Routes Around Town

Want to avoid traffic while moving around Kinston? This page lists alternative roads to make your commute stress-free. Many of Kinston's main roads have parallel roads that get much less traffic.

• Vernon Avenue - in town, try Lenoir Ave. or Washington Ave.
• Carey Road (between Vernon and Plaza) - try West Road. If the hill on West is too steep for you, try Greenbriar or Rhem. Rhem is a nice, less aggressive grade. Take a left at Rountree to get back to West Road.
